Hey.
I'm Qwarq, a human person on the internet.
I'm an elder millennial with an education and professional background in computers and software development, but I'm also interested in video game development and digital art. I also stream on twitch occasionally.
I'm proudly asexual, non-binary and aromantic. Basically I'm not sexually or romantically attracted to anyone and I'm neither a boy nor a girl.
I graduated from university with a degree in computer science, and since then I've been working as a software engineer. I always keep a very strict separation between my online and offline lives, so I won't give any more details on that, but I'll just say that it's not particularly interesting.
Something more interesting (to me, at least) is game development. I've been playing video games since I was 2 years old and they've been a big part of my life ever since. They're a big reason for my interest in computers and my choice of career. I've been interested in developing games for over 15 years now, and I've actually made a few myself (wow!). I even have my own game development company. More on that here.
My favorite types of games usually involve puzzles, exploration or deep stories. Here are my top 25 games (in no particular order after the first 5), since I think that says a lot about the type of person I am:
A more recent interest is digital art. I had enjoyed doing silly image manipulation since high school, but around 2017 that interest morphed into a casual hobby of drawing. I still consider myself a beginner, but multiple people have sought me out to give me money to draw things for them, so I guess I must be doing something right. You can find links to some of my work here.
I'm a very introverted, shy and socially anxious person, but somehow, against all sense, I started streaming on twitch a few years ago. I'm hesitant to use the term vtuber since I don't interact with streaming in the same way as many vtubers, but I do use an avatar (a live2d avatar that I drew myself!). That avatar is what this site is themed around, actually.
The character's name is Tau Qwarq, a fox boy roboticist that lives on a distant moon in the far future. There's more about him here. Of note is that Tau is a distinct character who is not me; I don't usually do roleplay or kayfabe. Anyway, I stream maybe once per week (mostly often Sundays at 9 eastern). I'm usually playing video games (most retro-ish stuff), but occasionally I'll draw and even more rarely do some game dev. You can find the stream over here.
